We are looking for 6 or 7 high school students interested in accepting this leadership and service challenge by being part of the Student Council, and providing leadership for various Deluge activities throughout the year. If you are interested in being part of this group, please talk to your parents and then fill out a questionnaire we have prepared to help us assemble this group. You can download the questionnaire here.

A great need of any generation is men and women who will rise up to the challenge of leadership and allow God to use them to make a difference in the lives of others. High school is a time when God often begins to form the character in us and provide learning experiences that will prepare us for the challenges and fruitfulness he has for us in the future. Serving on the Student Council will be a context in which this leadership development can occur.

We’ve done this once before, and we’re doing it again this weekend. The difference is we’re adding a Deluge prayer meeting before Deluge. I’m inviting all of Deluge to come and join us at 6pm Saturday to pray for our church, the young adults in our church, and of course the Deluge meeting that night. I’ve also invited people in the church who are in the prayer chain to come out to Deluge as well.

For more information you can go to the I Am Metro Life Church website and join our facebook group and join the prayer chain. Then come out at 6pm on Saturday to pray for Deluge. We’ll go from there to our regular Deluge meeting at 7pm.

Weekend Overview

• Prayer Chain, 8am Saturday to 8am Sunday: Pray for one hour. Go to our Facebook page, find the 24 logo, RSVP and write on the event wall which hour you’re praying for.
• Prayer meeting before Deluge, 6pm Saturday: Regardless of when you’re praying, come out and join our Deluge prayer meeting Saturday night. Then our normal Deluge will meet at 7pm.
• Prayer meeting before Sunday Celebration, 9am Sunday: The prayer chain will conclude with us gathering at 9am Sunday morning to pray together before the Sunday meeting.

Youth Ministry Orientation Night

Have you been part of Deluge or Metro Youth in the past? Maybe you’re entering 6th or 9th grade. Perhaps you’re already in middle or high school and haven’t jumped into Metro Youth or Deluge yet. We’re planning an orientation to kick off the 2010-2011 school year. We’ll have a time of worship, announcement of things that are coming up this year, and then you’ll get to meet with the folks in your grade for your first discipleship group of the new year. It all starts at 7:30, Wednesday August 25th.

Please know that even though we’ll be welcoming the incoming 6th and 9th graders, that’s only part of what we’re doing, so this meeting is intended for all middle school and high school students and parents. It’s also a great opportunity to invite people who have not participated in Deluge or Metro Youth to learn what we’re all about.

Church-Wide Outreach this weekend

On Saturday, we will be hosting our church-wide out reach. If you have not signed up, you will have a chance to put your name down to come to the Orlando Women’s Center to interact with people who are planning on aborting their children. After the discipleship groups are done, we will hold a brief meeting for those who are interested in going in our chapel to equip you for your time there.

We are meeting at 6:30 until 8:30 on Saturday, March 27th. After our time at the abortion clinic, we will return to Metro Life Church for breakfast and then join others in the church to visit Hannah’s Hope.
